Bourbonshire Beef Pie

 Recipe

Saute ground beef for 12 minutes until cooked through. Add diced onion and cook until soft. Add peas, carrots and diced potatoes and cook 5 more minutes until vegetables are soft. Make rue for gravy with butter, flour and milk. Add beef broth to rue and simmer for 4 minutes until gravy is thickened. Add Bourbonshire and seasonings-

Make rue for gravy with butter, flour and milk. Add beef broth to rue and simmer for 4 minutes until gravy is thickened. Add Bourbonshire and seasonings-Tarragon, Oregano, Parsley. Add meat and vegetable mixture to rue gravy pan and mix all together. Taste for flavor and add salt and pepper for added flavor. Mix crust ingredients and knead in ball and roll out into 2 flat pieces for bottom and top crusts. Spray bottom of pan with non-stick oil. Bake bottom pie crust at 350 for 30 minutes until golden brown. Pour meat and vegetable ingredients into dish and cover with top pie crust and bake for additional 30 minutes at 350 degrees until bubbling and crust is golden brown.

 


Ingredients

2 lbs Ground Beef

Pie Crust recipe

1 Large White Onion Diced

1 Can or frozen green peas

1 Large carrot diced

2 Medium Golden Potatoes diced

3 Cloves minced Fresh Garlic cloves

1 Teaspoon dried Tarragon

1 Teaspoon dried Oregano

1 Teaspoon dried or fresh Parsley

2 Cups Beef broth

4 Tablespoons Bourbonshire

Salt and Pepper


Crust

 3 1/2 Cups Flour

1 Tablespoon granulated sugar

3 Teaspoons salt

1 Cup cold butter cut in cubes

1/2 Cup Cold Buttermilk
