Bourbonshire Sauce and Rice

Casserole dish with rice, sliced sausage, peas, and carrots.

Recipe

Buy premium andouille, chicken, pork or beef sausage and cut into 2 inch pieces and marinade in Bourbonshire for 5 hours.  Cut red and yellow bell peppers, yellow onions and celery into diced pieces and saute in olive oil until golden brown. Add 1 slice of bacon cut up to cook until golden brown. Stir all vegetables and bacon freque

Recipe

Buy premium andouille, chicken, pork or beef sausage and cut into 2 inch pieces and marinade in Bourbonshire for 5 hours.  Cut red and yellow bell peppers, yellow onions and celery into diced pieces and saute in olive oil until golden brown. Add 1 slice of bacon cut up to cook until golden brown. Stir all vegetables and bacon frequently. Add Cajun spices and 2 minced fresh garlic cloves, cayenne, oregano, parsley, pepper, bay leaf, kosher salt and ground black pepper and stir. You can use a homemade Cajun seasoning, or one from the store, just make sure it’s a quality brand. Fold in 3 cups of long grain white rice and 5 cups of chicken broth. Stir and cook for 20 minutes covered until fluffy and fully cooked. Add 2 Tblspns Bourbonshire and stir to finish.

Saute marinated sausages in pan with olive oil for 15 minutes, cover to finish cooking thoroughly. Add sausages to Cajun rice and sprinkle with green chive onions add more Bourbonshire to drizzle on sausages as preferred and enjoy.


Ingredients

2 Lbs Preferred sausage

Rice

1 yellow and Red Bell pepper

1/2 yellow onion

1/2 Celery stock

2 garlic cloves

1 Slice bacon

3 cups white long grain rice

5 Cups Chicken Broth

1 Bay leaf

3 Tblspns Cajun seasoning

1/2 Tspn Salt

1/2 Tspn Pepper

1/2 Tspn Cayenne

1/2 Tspn Oregano

1/2 Tspn Parsley

1 Bottle Bourbonshire

1/2 Cup Green chive onions
